# Getting Started

Welcome! You're one setup away from giving your customers a smoother way to save, applying and stacking discount codes right in the cart or mini-cart, without a single extra step at checkout. This guide walks you through the whole journey: activating your plan, placing the widget with a no-code setup through the theme editor (or manually, if your theme needs something more custom), and removing it cleanly if you ever need to. Whichever Shopify version you're on, 2.0 or 1.0, there's a path built for it, complete with video walkthroughs for each.

{% hint style="info" %}
**Before you start:** activate your app subscription, then check which Shopify version your store is on. Open your theme editor and go to a product or collection page. If you can add, remove, or reorder sections there (not just on the homepage), you're on **Online Store 2.0**. If sections only work on the homepage, you're on the older **Online Store 1.0**. Shopify still supports 1.0, but is steering merchants toward 2.0, so if you're not sure, it's worth checking with whoever set up your theme.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://discontx.arvest.digital/getting-started.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
